Rye Hotel owner fined $80,000 after integrity breach
The Victorian Gambling and Casino Management Board fined the Rye Hotel owner $80,000 after two breaches of integrity.
In the first case, high-ranking rye hotel staff falsified records to cover up a mispayment of $2,039 to a sponsor. Venues must pay jackpots in excess of $2,000 by check or EFT. Attempts to cover up these violations amount to serious integrity and misconduct.
In the second case, the venue issued a check to an unqualified person at the request of a sponsor, who was unable to create identification cards to collect the jackpot. The venue must handle only payments made to electronic game machines and ensure proper identification is carried out.
In addition to the fine, the commission called for the owner's delegation to sell rye hotels and exit the gambling industry.
In fining, VGCCC CEO Annette Kimmit AM said the decision sends a clear message to the industry about compliance with integrity measures. "Event venue operators and owners need to understand the full extent of the consequences of falsifying records and covering up misconduct," Kimmit said.
"We know honest mistakes happen. However, venue operators who try to cover up violations will be caught and face serious consequences." 안전 슬롯사이트
